Hva er UNiK?

UNiK er en bydelsbevegelse som har tatt på seg utfordringen med å samle det uavhengige næringslivet og kulturlivet her på Grünerløkka. Eksplosjonen av kjedebutikker, eiendomsmeglere og storkiosker i kombinasjon med uansvarlige gårdeiere som kun tenker profitt og ikke langsiktig byplanlegging, fører til en forflatning av bybildet.

Vi oppfordrer alle beboere og besøkende til å ta vare på Grünerløkka. Det kan gjøres ved å være bevisst på hvor man handler, ved å støtte uavhengige foretak, og ved å vise hensyn til byen og menneskene rundt deg.

Vi vil ta vare på denne mangfoldige bydelen, som vi mener er et av Oslos viktigste og hyggeligste sosiale rom. Rett og slett fordi vi elsker byen vår. Les mer...

What is UNiK?

UNiK is a movement that is attempting to bring together independent shops/businesses and the culture of Grünerløkka. The explosion of chain stores, estate agents and big kiosks in combionation with irresponsible landlords which value short term profit over long term city planning have helped in the destruction of the exciting and varied urban environment.

We encourage all the residents and visitors to take an interest in the future of Grünerløkka. This can achieved by considering where one shops and by supporting local, independent shops and businesses.

We started UNiK because we want to see Grünerløkka remain an interesting and vibrant area. Read more...

Grünerløkka has long been the district of Oslo that houses has the most artists. The cultural scene followed soon after. Ever since Grünerløkka has flourished with its multitude of concert venues, art schools, artists, designers, and a diverse business community with a wonderful assortment of small shops and cafes.

Cities and Neighborhoods are a work in progress, in both a positive and a negative sense. But after Grûnerløkka was invaded in recent years by chain stores and estate agents many residents became tired of the trend.

Fortunately, we have still wide cultural opportunities here in Grünerløkka, with x-ray, Strykejernet, Galleri Brenneriet, Blå, MIR, Black Box og Parkteatret, Sound of Mu, DOG-A og Dansens Hus.

It is culture that in the highest degree makes a city vibrant and diverse. Culture inspires, provokes and provides experiences.

UNiK believe that the Grünerløkka cultural scene is just as important as the independent business sector and want to unite all the players that make Grünerløkka a better place. Therefore, UNiK Business and UNiK Culture will work together to provide a diverse environment in Grünerløkka.
